Swedish Interkultur Festival 2018

A celebration of culture, food, and music, this festival brings together the many different cultures and tastes that reside in the Swedish countryside near Stockholm. Recent surges in refugee populations have led to some cultural tension in the region, but concerts and events such as these help to bridge the gap between the old and the new. 

I was asked to arrange pieces for jazz band and choir to be joined with a dance team, all made up of volunteers and refugees that have a love and passion for the arts. I was surprised with an invitation to come conduct the concert as well, and was able to work with the musicians and dancers in rehearsal and live at the concert.
